Why it exists

Class time runs out before the explanation does

Every teacher has had the moment. Someone asks a genuinely good question about what a twist is doing, or why one hip keeps lifting, and there are eleven minutes left and a room full of people waiting. So the answer gets compressed into a sentence and the class moves on.

This course is where the long version lives. Karina works through every pose category in turn, introducing what it does energetically and physically, breaking the poses down with specific alignment detail, then flowing them back together so you can feel how it fits. Then it goes past the physical entirely, into breath and meditation.

It is not a replacement for your classes. It is the reason they start landing differently.

For context, a one-hour private session with a Flolo teacher is $150. This is nine hours with the teacher who trains them, for less than the price of two.

Common questions

Before you buy

Is this a beginner course?
The name suggests it is, and it undersells what is actually here. Nine hours on alignment, pose categories, pranayama and meditation is a genuine deep dive, and plenty of people who have practised for years take it to finally understand the why behind what they have been doing. It works if you are brand new too, because everything is broken down from first principles. Both are honest answers.
Do I need a Flolo membership to take it?
No. The course is a separate purchase and it is not included in any membership. You can take it whether or not you attend our studios, and you do not need to live on the Gold Coast.
Is this instead of coming to class?
No, and we would rather you did not treat it that way. It is designed to make the classes you already attend land differently. Class time is limited and a teacher cannot pause a room to explain the energetics of a twist for forty minutes. This is where that explanation lives.
Who teaches it?
Karina Guthrie, E-RYT 500 and YACEP, with over 12 years teaching in Australia and internationally. Karina runs Flolo's in-house teacher education program, which means she trains the teachers you take class with. She is also completing a PhD at Otago University researching women's participation in Indian Shakta Tantra in the West.
How is it structured?
Nine modules totalling close to nine hours. Six work through the pose categories one at a time, each introducing the category, breaking down the poses in alignment detail and then flowing them together. The final three move beyond the physical into pranayama, meditation and a full-length integrated practice. Modules unlock in order, so you work through it as a progression rather than dipping in and out.
What do I need to do it?
A mat and enough space to move. Karina covers which props suit which poses and what to use instead if you do not have them, so you can start with what is already in the house.

Nine hours. One payment. Yours to work through.

Take it before your first class, or after your five hundredth. Both work.

On the Gold Coast? Pair it with classes at Helensvale, Robina or Mermaid Beach.
