Why does the spark dim?
Maybe a few months in, maybe a few years in, you found yourself going through the motions. You showed up but felt disconnected, and although you were practicing, you were also wondering: what is the point of all this?
It's a really common feeling, and it actually makes sense. When we lose connection to the why of practice, the what starts to feel repetitive, mechanical and uninspiring. And movement isn't meant to feel like that.
The good thing: that sense of curiosity, enjoyment and meaning you once felt isn't gone. It just needs the right space, the right teaching and the right environment to meet you again.
How do I know I've fallen out of step?
If you've been away from your practice for a while, you've probably started to notice that you feel kind-of-okay-but-not-that-great. Fine, but not that excited about what you have going on. Not in pain, but also not fully comfortable in your body.
It creeps up quietly, and sometimes it's been like that for so long it starts to feel normal.
What does coming back actually feel like?
We've been through this cycle more than once ourselves, so we can tell you what tends to happen when you fall back into step. It sounds like: "Oh, I wasn't aware of not feeling good, that's just because I forgot what good actually feels like." Or "wow, my back doesn't hurt anymore." Or the big one: "hang on, am I actually looking forward to going to class? I thought this would be a grind."
How do I make it stick this time?
Keep the rhythm going. The more classes you get to, especially in the first few weeks, the faster it starts to feel like a natural part of your week rather than a thing on your to-do list. With 140+ classes across Helensvale, Robina and Mermaid Beach every week, there's almost always a time that fits.
It also helps to not do it alone. Flolo is full of kind, quirky, down-to-earth, supportive, funny humans who happen to prioritise movement as a way of prioritising themselves, and they're great at connecting with people who are doing the same. Having people notice you came back makes coming back again much easier.
Whether you've been away a little while or a long while, we'd love to welcome you back. No expectations. Just come as you are.
